What is MyTvix?


MyTvix is a media player enhancer. Using your folder structre of media files, it will download the media information such as title, year, rating and fan art (typically a poster) and combine all the information into a background image for your screen. It is currently has been developed and tested against the Tvix M-6500A. I wrote it because I wasn't quite happy with the other tools. Either the UI was too complicated or they didn't quite organise the my movies and its information the wat I wanted it to.

Current Features

  • Web Application (doesn't require a web server to run because its a web server to itself. This means that once running on a machine it can be run from any other machine on the home network
  • Creates folder.jpg, tvix.jpg files in the movie folder
  • Skinnable UI
  • Uses TheMovieDb.org to get movie information and images
  • Movie details from Imdb can be imported too
  • Backdrop layout designer
  • Movie information editor
  • Search on personal database of movie collection
  • Organises movies on the physical disk according to movie information
  • Ftp Support
  • Basic File Management
  • Bulk import
  • Support for Mede8er, Dune, WD HD TV
